BOSTON TRIP - DAY 3

It was another early morning for us. We had reservations for a Harbor Boat tour. It was extremely warm so we sat in the air conditioned room inside most of the time. The kids ventured out to count all the starfish they could see on the bottom of the ocean floor. The girls said they counted over 500! Payton and Makai made their own games by climbing the poles in the boat. Dad forgot his needles for his insulin so Noelle and Mom ran to Walgreens while the others found a place to eat. On our way back in the Subway, we met a friendly guy named Kevin. He was wearing a wool hat in 100+ degree weather with a hat. He talked to us about the country, politics, places to see, etc... We could tell he was educated and would have loved to hear his story since he knew so much. We then ate our "Seafood" meal on the pier where Skyler was able to enjoy his fresh oysters. We had plans to tour around more of Boston, but we were worn out from the heat and wanted to stay indoors. So we decided to head over to the Aquarium. Grandpa was able to take a little nap in the wheelchair as we pushed him around and the kids had a good time staying cool and watching marine life. After the museum, we realized Grandpa's scooter tire was flat. So mom, dad and Janson headed out to find a bike repair shop. We were lucky to find one right around the corner where the manager helped us fix the tire. We weren't done for the day so we decided to head towards Harvard and tour the grounds. They are Amazing! We relaxed under some of the large trees while the kids played tag on the grounds. Noelle and Janson quizzed Skyler on why he wanted to go to Harvard, his response... "I don't".  Haha, he wants a good education without feeling smothered by the competition. We then were craving ice-cream. Along the way we found a few guys playing street chess and since many of our family members love a great game of Chess including Traycen who is on his school Chess team, we had to stay and watch. Luckily they have rules that you can't sit too long and we were able to watch them complete the game. As we headed toward the ice-cream shop, Grandma couldn't resist not stopping by the local church and cemetery to take a few pictures for family history. It was one of her favorite parts of the trip, she loves old cemeteries. While mom, Dad and Grandma stopped by the church, the rest of the crew moved on. While buying our ice-cream we ran into two sister missionaries who were on their way to an appointment. We stopped to talk and say hello and of course had to buy them an ice-cream as well since it was such a blistering hot day. One was from Las Vegas and was used to the heat but not the humidity. We were definitely missing Jayden at this point and hoped someone would buy him and ice-cream if he were in the same situation. As we walked the street and ate our treats, low and behold we ran into the infamous KEVIN!! Noelle and Mom were excited to introduce him to the family. We noticed his shoes were probably 4 sizes bigger than his foot. He continued to lecture us on the history of the city which we really enjoyed. We left him with $20 that he adamantly tried to refuse, but we felt inspired that he needed it as we were miles from where we first met him and just happened to see him again. God works in mysterious ways.
