BOSTON TRIP - DAY 4
Once again, we were up bright and early to pack up and head out of Boston in order to make it to Salem early enough to catch the first tour trolley out for the day. Salem is of course known for the witch trials and the filming of Hocus Pocus which the kids loved hearing the stories and seeing the infamous locations the movie was filmed around. Grandma was excited to once again find an old cemetery where there was a memorial for each of the accused witches as well as John Hathorne, one of the principle witchcraft trials magistrates that was buried here. Dad and Mom and the kids wanted to ride bikes through the small town to see some of the old houses and buildings up close. So we invited Lacee and Traycen to join us while the others walked the streets and went to lunch. Grandpa finally needed a break from the group and went out on his own with "Trigger". We let him go only because we had a tracker on his phone and could find him at any time. We passed by him a couple of times while biking through the city only to see him with a treat or ice-cream in his hand. We stopped by many of the Hocus Pocus sites to take pictures and traveled the streets. We found a place for lunch where Lacee made an interesting ice-cream concoction with chocolate ice-cream, fudge and bobas for the whopping price of $8! Noelle didn't seem to enjoy it as much as Lacee. Then it was on to the Salem Witch Museum where they told us the story of the how the Salem Witch Trials all began. It was a good learning experience for the kids and we are so grateful for our justice system now. We have come a long way. We picked Grandpa up at a park as we headed out of town. He said he had a relaxing day, but was awakened during his naps about 3-4 times with people asking if he was okay. Probably because he looks dead when he sleeps with his mouth wide open. He seemed happy after having a day to himself. We then headed to Ogunquit where Noelle and Mom ran to the store to grab birthday supplies for Grandma's birthday the next day. As they headed out, they realized they were in the middle of a flash flood. From the time it took to run from the front parking space to the store, they were drenched. It was well worth celebrating Grandma!
