We love Halloween so we weren't complaining when Halloween fell over the weekend. That meant more days to celebrate! It is a tradition to make a Halloween lunch, unfortunately Auri is the last one to enjoy this tradition. She only reminded mom a dozen times to make sure she made her Halloween lunch. She dressed up as Venkman, one of the Ghostbusters along with her friend Megan. Mom helped with the class Halloween party, planning a couple of minute to win it games. Auri successfully maneuvered an Oreo from her forehead to her mouth the first try. After the party, Mom headed back to watch the Halloween parade. Only 1 more year, it's hard to believe! Auri came home from school begging to go to Lagoon's Frightmares one last time. So we invited Traycen to go with us. Mom warned them it would be very busy since it was the last weekend it was opened and it was! They chose the rides Cannibal, Wicked and a Haunted House as the 3 rides that they for sure wanted to experience. Mom waited in line for Cannibal while the two went on the bumper cars. Then she waited in line at the haunted house while they went on the airplanes, and finally she waited in line at Wicked while they road the musical rollercoaster. They were able to get 6 rides in while mom got 3, but it was all worth it! It was a great evening to spend with 2 amazing kiddos!
Since Halloween fell on a Sunday this year, we celebrated it on Saturday. We didn't have time to cut out our jack-o-lanterns earlier in the week so while mom made dinner, the kids cut their pumpkins along with Aysia's friend Addie. Mom made a graveyard bean dip, celery fingers, clam chowder, potato soup, broccoli cheese soup and a few goodies. Grandma and Grandpa Pikus stopped over for a quick bite before heading to Rob and Gege's to see their kids. Skyler had a few friends over to watch a scary movie and Auri had her friends over after a night of trick or treating to hang out and watch the Chipmunk movie. Aysia headed out with Addie to a party so Dad and Mom were left to hand out treats, of course they were the full sized candy bars as usual. We don't skimp on Halloween, we love our fright night!
