We were lucky the High School was allowing the outdoor dances to occur this year. We were praying for good weather. It was a little cool, but luckily not rain for Skyler's Junior Prom. He invited his friend Emily to the dance. She had asked Skyler to Sadie Hawkins his Sophomore year before he was 16 years old. He decided he wanted to wait and date until 16 so he asked for a rain check. It was now time to cash in the "Rain Check" and invite her to Prom. Unfortunately, Skyler and Emily had both signed up for he ACT that day so the first part of their date was taking a test of a lifetime. They met up with their group after the test to enjoy an Escape room and grab a bite to eat. Then it was home to get ready. Luckily mom realized Sky didn't have a suit jacket at the last minute and ran around town looking for a jacket and new shoes. She was successful and Skyler looked like a million bucks. They took pictures and headed to the dance. The group came over to the house after for a crepe bar than Mom and Grandma prepared. Mom had to run to the store as Skyler's group arrived. Upon returning she was surprised to find the group had already eaten and gone within 20 minutes! Skyler was home by 11:30 on his first Prom. He explained that two other kids in his group had an 11:00 curfew so they all decided to end at the same time. We were used to Jayden's late dance nights that would often time end at 1-2am. He said they had a great time though and grateful he could cash in that rain check!
