Defend the GOAL!!!

Skyler was nervous about the high school tryouts this year. It has been a rough last year due to the Pandemic. Skyler made the Sophomore team last year only to forgo the entire season due to the regulations surrounding Covid-19. He was literally on the bus ready to head to his first game of the season before being kicked off and told that the season had been cancelled. It was sad to see all of the boys hard work and efforts be crushed. But everyone was in the same situation and a positive outlook and attitude would be Skyler's only option because he couldn't change the situation. This year was more important for him to make the team because it may be his last with the High School since the Varsity Keeper for the next year has already been chosen. Skyler was up against the other 2 JV keepers who made the team last year as well as a few other new goalies who were trying out. He also had a difficult year due to an unexpected back injury most likely due to soccer. He had an MRI and was required to have physical therapy. It was a definite set back since the Doctor discouraged him from playing in any physical activities for a couple of months. The pain subsided somewhat, but not completely. He could only do his best. After tryouts, the list was posted on the door that evening. Skyler came home with a big smile on his face stating he had made the JV soccer team. Quite an accomplishment for a large 6A school! We all felt bad for Tony who was the other keeper from last year's team that did not make it this year. Looking forward to watching Skyler do what he does best... Defend the GOAL!!
