Although it was raining in the morning, we decided to take our chances and head to the La Fortuna Waterfall. It was a short walk through an Orchid garden, but was all stairs. We hiked down to the waterfall which was very impressive. We would have loved to go swimming in the pool and get closer to the falls but because of all the recent rain, the waterfall was much too big for people to get near. We took several pictures and headed back up the grueling stairs, at least that's what dad said. We had a great lunch in downtown La Fortuna. We asked the kids what they wanted to do the next day before we headed to Jaco beach. They each said they wanted to go Zorbing (a large ball you get inside of with a small amount of water and roll down an obstacle course). So when we bought the tickets, it came with a ticket for each of us to use the facilities and pools at the local resort, Los Lagos. It had 11 outdoor pools with varying temperatures from the hot springs as well as waterslides. We enjoyed the evening there, walking around the grounds, swimming and taking a trip to the top of the mountain behind the hotel only to find some old ruins, most likely an old church. We really relaxed there and enjoyed the resort. Of course we had to end by going to eat at "The Place". It was a great way to end the last day in La Fortuna. The next day we would head to the beach.
