CAMP ,CAMP & MORE CAMPS!

It wouldn't be summer without all of the kids camps they get to look forward to. From Drill Team to Young Men and Young women's camps and from Youth Conference to Activity Days. The kids did it all!

For Youth Conference, Skyler and Aysia were able to join our Sunrise Meadows 1st ward with their last Youth Conference to Utah State where they enjoyed outdoor games, speakers and a youth dance with a few other wards around Utah. We have a particularly large youth group with about 110 youth total. It always makes for a great time no matter the activity.

For Aysia's Young Women's camp, their group ended up going to Reid Ranch for 2 nights. Aysia had Drill practice on Thursday morning so she was able to get a ride and arrive a little late along with her teammate Triana. Mom had arranged this camp while she was in Young Women's 2 years ago. She was ecstatic that it would be all inclusive and they would take care of the entertainment, food and lodging. The leaders were there to assist and help on the spiritual side. She was bummed when Covid caused them to cancel camp, but they were able to save the date for the following year unfortunately when she was released. The girls had a great time riding horses, biking, swimming, hiking and playing games. Mom definitely missed the girls this year.

Skyler was able to attend his High Adventure camp to the Uinta's where they back packed into a campsite. They fished, hiked, hammocked and relaxed. Unfortunately it was rainy much of the time and they had to sit around camp much of the time due to weather. But they still had a great time with all of their friends and leaders.

Aysia's Drill team had a couple of camps this summer. Last Chance was the first one where they were able to get to know each other a little better. They swam, went boating, played Volleyball and stayed up way too late. The second Camp was called Epic. They go to this conference where they learn a few dances that they can perform throughout the year at half time shows and events. This particular camp landed on Aysia's birthday so Mom tried to make it special and sent birthday streamers, a crown, decorations and cupcakes with a few of the girls to make her day great. She was exhausted after camp ands had enough energy for dinner and cake, then to bed. We would celebrate with friends on another day.

Auri could only make it to the last part of her activity days camp this year due to her mandatory dance earlier in the morning. She was excited to make it to the park to eat lunch and then to Color Me Mine to decorate a donut piggy bank. She will miss her friends in this ward but is looking forward to meeting new friends in the new neighborhood.
