HOCO

Westlake's homecoming week was early this year. Homecoming ended up being the 2nd weekend after school started so Skyler had to ask before the first day of school. He asked a girl he knew from his last year's classes, Kate Wilson. We had an extra large dance trophy that we were going to send to DI but he decided to use it for asking and made sure that she knew the trophy was non-returnable. She then answered with a large hay bale with a Chick -Filet lunch letting Skyler know that the Bale of Hay was not returnable :)  He decided to sign up to be a cheer leader at the powder puff game where the boys all dance and cheer and the girls play the game. Skyler rocked the Cheer outfit and was able to get the crowd on their feet. Unfortunately, there was a large thunderstorm that came up quite sudden at half time and the remainder of the game had to be cancelled. We were glad we were able to see Skyler's moves before they cancelled the game.  Aysia was able to perform at the Homecoming football game with the Drill team which was fun to see them perform after a long summer of practices. Aysia was also asked to the dance by a boy that she did not know very well. Since she doesn't actually attend High School and wasn't 16 she put a candy poster together, politely declining his offer.

Aysia asking and answer to the Homecoming dance with Jon. She tried to decline as gracefully as possible since she wasn't 16.

Auri and a couple of her friends enjoying the Homecoming Carnival before the big game. They loved the fishing pond the most.

Skyler was in a group of couples that had the homecoming king (Adam Powell) and Homecoming queen. It was a fun, energetic group for Skyler which was a little different than his Prom group. They were all going to meet at the Silver Lake Hike. Luckily Mom found out that it was Silver Lake in American Fork, not the one we routinely go to near Brighton ski resort. She reminded him that morning. Luckily, she has a GPS tracker on Skyler and realized he was almost to Silver Lake in Salt Lake near Brighton. She gave him a call and nicely told him he was in the wrong place. By the time Skyler and his date made it to Silver Lake in American Fork Canyon, the rest of the group was already up the mountain and getting ready to head back down. So Skyler and Kate ate lunch, enjoyed the mountains and headed back down. Skyler said it went really well though and said she is a talker which made the drive very comfortable. He dropped her off, got ready and headed out to get their pictures taken while Mom went over to the Powell's home to help with dinner arrangements. It was a beautiful night and they were able to eat overlooking the view of the valley. Everything went smooth. They went to the dance, then back to hang out and play games at another boys home. He didn't come in the door until after 1am which was a change from his 11:30 arrival after Prom when a majority of his group had curfews by 11:00! He had a great time with his date and his group!
