Costa Rica - Day 6-7

Once again, it was a little drizzly, but the kids were excited to go for a ride in the zorb. They felt like it was an enclosed waterslide. They had a blast until a large hole was torn into the inside of the ball. We had to cut our Zorbing trip short but at least each child got at least one ride down, Skyler got 2. The second one was much slower due to the ball deflating. As we traveled to Jako Beach, about 3-4 hours away, we had to stop and each of us get a Covid test that was required before returning to the United States. Skyler was used to the tests due to his weekly testing for soccer. The rest of us on the other hand had the test for the first time. It felt like they were pushing a Q-tip to your brain. It hurt, tickled and stung all at the same time. Luckily we were all negative and no one had to quarantine. We didn't get to Jako beach until a little later than we planned. Our condo was a few blocks from the beach. Dad had some work to do so mom and the kids enjoyed the sunset on the beach. The water was warm and the kids were able to body surf. It wasn't the softest sand so Skyler scraped up his abdomen on the floor of the ocean floor. The sunset was amazing. The kids weren't done swimming so we headed back to the condo to swim in the pool. We stayed until past dark and went into the town to eat pizza at one of the local restaurants. We woke up early the next morning in order to return our rental car and make it to the airport on time. Our layover in Florida was a nightmare. After getting off the plane, we had a 2 1/2 hour wait to get through customs. We had to sprint through the airport to get to the right terminal only to find that they had just shut the door and did not have record of us on the flight. After I showed them my printed documents, they quickly figured out the problem and actually opened the door for us. If customs took any longer, we would have missed our flight. Heavenly Father was watching over us when at the last minute in the customs line an airport employee grabbed mom and another gentleman thinking they were together to go into a new kiosk without a line. Luckily once he realized they weren't together, he allowed mom to bring the entire family into the new line and we were rushed through quickly rather than having to wait another 15-20 minutes in the long line we were standing in. Heavenly Father hears our prayers. We were ready to get home and get the kids back to school since it would be nearing the end of the term once we got back.
